how can student manage their time?

Carry out a Personal Time Survey

Before listing all the things you need to do, first it is wise to determine how you will you use your time. Having a Personal Time Survey will help you in estimating the time you spend on different activities.

It will also help you to identify what are the most important and least important items in your schedule.

So how does it work? List all the possible activities that you want to do the whole week, estimate the amount of time you spent on each activity and multiply it by seven. This will give you the estimated number of hours of an activity in a week.

After getting the estimates for other activities, add it all up and subtract the sum from 168, which is the total number of hours per week.

The figure that you have obtained is the amount of hours you have allowed yourself to study per week.

Construct your Time Schedule

Although there are ready-to-use time schedules, it is better that you make your own. Personalizing it will help you to edit your schedule when you need to change the amount of time required to do something.

The first entry of your time schedule should be all the necessities. List your classes, meals, and other important items. Be sure that the time is exact; avoid over or underestimating the amount of time you need to do specific things.

Then enter your study time. It is recommended that you set your study time at the time of day when you feel most energized. On the other hand, some task will be completed more efficiently if done immediately. For instance, it is best to review your class notes soon after class

student - Important Tips

No.1: Never be a Perfectionist

Nobody is perfect: that is the unwritten rule. Always set achievable objectives. Do not aim to do something perfectly. If you are constantly trying to achieve perfection on your assignments, you would just waste too much time on them.  The pursuit of perfection can also paralyze you from making progress and completing tasks on time.

No.2: Learn To Say “NO”

It is difficult to turn people down, but you need to if it is for your own welfare. For instance, your friend invites you for a social gathering later this evening, but you have already planned a group study with your classmates that night to review for your upcoming examination the next day. Ask yourself: Which is important, socializing or my future?

No.3: Learn to Prioritize

Some people do not know how to prioritize. They tend to forget important things and concentrate on other things, only learning their mistake in the end.

How to set your priorities? If you do not have an idea, then you can try the ABC to-do list. It works like this: Make your list of activities and group them into three categories, which are the A, B, and C list.

The contents of list A are those that need to be accomplished on that day. The contents of list B are those needed within the week. The contents of the list C are the things that are due for that month. You can even modify this system to suit your own personal needs.

No.4: Combined Several Activities

While on a bus ride to school, you can listen to some pre-recorded lessons on particular subjects. While taking your shower, you can do a mental review of the things that you need to include in your A list. Learn to be creative with multitasking.

No.5: Stay Focused

Stick whatever you have indicated in your schedule. Reprioritize what you did not finish yesterday. Always stay updated. After all, your task is to finish whatever you intended to finish on a particular day. There is strictly no excuse for an abandoned or forgotten job.

No.6: Give Yourself a Break

Remember that you also need some time together with your family and friends. Taking a break from your studies can make you feel mentally rejuvenated.

You might find it hard at first to follow all of these tips, but with enough determination and discipline, you will find out later on that you are having a good time with your family and other people around without thinking of other things to do tomorrow.

student- challenging life

Life of student :
Being a student is without a doubt challenging. Moving away from the comfort of the room you've spent 18 years of your life in can be scary. So many new faces, so many new things to see and do...and drink. money burns a hole in your pocket and before you know it you've run out the essentials: Loo roll, Tesco value Baked Beans and beer. YOu have to not only roll out of bed in time to make it to your lectures, you haev to look after yourself. The first few weeks you spend trying to see how many wears you can squeeze out of your clothes, and you're affraid to get too close to anyone incase they can smell the nights of partying and days of pondering over old dusty books in the uni library. Being a student is hard work but fun, you will meet so many new and exciting people, just remember to avoid the girl who calls you her best friend after one conversation in a smokey, dank nightclub toilet, and the guy who can't seem to keep his hands off you and his eyes off every gorgeous girl in the room.
